"Green" is the term many of the world's leading manufacturers continue to use in bold statements about their products.

How "green" an ink is or environmentally friendly a product may be is still up for debate, with no hard regulations currently in place to govern the meaning and definitions of these phrases. Our industry is regulated by specific guidelines for green products, but the overuse of terms and the potential for using different testing methods results in a "green washing effect".

The term "low VOC" is used all the time, but just because something is low VOC doesn't necessarily mean it's better for our planet. Like one of our customers recently pointed out, a company's environmental impact should be measured on the whole of the business and production activities, not on VOC content alone.

We couldn't agree more.

At Hostmann-Steinberg, we're using well-defined terminology, standardized testing methods, and a credible third party organization for objective support to claims that our products meet the highest possible content of renewable and sustainable raw materials.

You can rest assured we're diligently working toward lowering the impact that we, our suppliers and our customers have on our environment.

From our products and manufacturing methods, the delivery transportation we use, to the light switches we turn off, we believe our "green credentials" can also be measured by the way we partner with our clients to achieve real, measurable environmental improvements.

This document and its contents will demonstrate a clear and honest definition of what "environmentally friendly" means to us, as well as a clear portfolio of products that we believe will help our partners work positively towards their own environmental goals and objectives.
